He is also the vice president of China Illuminating Society, the third member of International Commission on Illumination (CIE), the member of Architectural Physics Committee of China Architecture Society and the professional committee of sports. He graduated from Tsinghua University in 1953 as a teaching assistant. After graduating in 1959, he served as an assistant professor. In 1979, he jumped to become an associate professor. In 1990, he was promoted to a professor. In 1994, he was a doctoral tutor. In 1996, he was awarded the first certificate of "National Grade A Registered Architect."
The main contribution:
Engaged in architectural design and construction of light environment teaching and research work forty-two years, is China's architectural lighting research pioneer. Research direction for the construction of light environment and lighting energy, research work focused on lighting engineering applications and lighting energy saving two areas. Research topics include the visual and physiological effects of light and color, the aesthetic values and physical laws, the evaluation of lighting quality, the development of energy efficient lighting fixtures and engineering applications.
He has published more than 30 papers and 3 monographs (both are co-author) in domestic and overseas journals and academic conferences. Both of them have won the second prize of Outstanding Science and Technology Books by the Ministry of Construction. Among them, the "Architectural Light Environment" has been published abroad.
Personal Honors Over the past decade or so completed more than ten national priorities and international cooperation in scientific research projects, of which three won the ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards, at the same time, presided over the completion of more than thirty indoor and outdoor lighting project planning and design, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall Night lighting design by the Beijing Grand Prix, Wangfujing Commercial Street night lighting planning and design by the 99th Urban Design Award.
